To experience life is also to experience death.

To experience love is also to experience loss.

To experience joy is also to experience pain.

What a wild thing it is to be alive.

What a beautiful, yet wicked, thing it is to be alive.

Grief is an individual journey, but to understand that we all move through this cycle—

that we will each leave this physical body when our time comes—

is our shared human experience.

That we will all lose someone we love before we are ready

is our shared human experience.

As we walk along our unique paths, what if we could hold more space for this shared experience?

What if we could come together in our hurt, rather than push each other away?

What if we came from a place of compassion, curiosity, and empathy,

rather than a place of resentment, judgment, and selfishness?

I am still figuring it out,

but something tells me that if we all came together to feel our collective grief, we would experience more love and joy than we do loss and pain.
